Black Male Suicide: Wacka Flocka's brother Kayo Redd dead due to Apparent Suicide

Notable suicides include Don Cornelius and Actor Lee Thompson young, Junior Seau. Chris Lighty. Jovan Belcher.

According to the American Association of Suicidology, in 2005, 1,992 suicides were completed by African-Americans and that suicide was the third leading cause of death among African-American youth.  The Centers for Disease Control reported that between 1999 and 2004, young African-American males had the highest rate of suicide.  This latter finding is consistent with research that males are more likely to complete suicides whereas females are more likely to attempt suicide.

Police investigating the death of KayO Redd, the younger brother of rapper Waka Flocka Flame, say the evidence points to a self-inflicted gunshot wound

Police in Henry County, Georgia say the body of KayO, born Caodes Scott, was discovered last night in the subdivision where he lived.

Waka’s mother and hip-hop manager Debra Antney confirmed the death on Twitter with the message, “I just lost another son.” Antney also had a son who died in a car accident when Waka was 13 years old.
Waka tweeted a message yesterday, saying “Ya Big Brother love you Kayo.”
The autopsy will be conducted later today.
