Florida Drug Testing Program of Welfare Recipients ruled UNCONSTITUTIONAL

The great state of Florida has many failures under its belt, not the least of which is its drug testing program for welfare Urine Samplerecipients. Now a federal judge has ruled the law, which was already assessed as a failure by most standards, unconstitutional.
Judge Mary S. Scriven of the United States District Court in Orlando ruled that the law requiring welfare applicants to undergo mandatory drug testing was unconstitutional since it violated the right of citizens against unreasonable seizures and searches.

“The court finds there is no set of circumstances under which the warrantless, suspicionless drug testing at issue in this case could be constitutionally applied,” wrote the judge.
Gov. Rick Scott had made drug testing a cornerstone of his tenure and insisted that it was necessary to ensure that tax money was not being spent on drugs. source:BreakingBrown
